Standalone deep dive, paid plans

Local presence and Google Business Profile

A standalone deep dive for businesses that serve a place. We grade your Google Business Profile against a fixed checklist and check whether your website backs up what the listing claims.

What we check

  • Whether a live Google Business Profile exists and is operational
  • Name, address, phone and website accuracy against your site
  • Primary category, opening hours, photos and business description
  • LocalBusiness structured data and a crawlable location page
  • Whether key pages name the towns, cities or regions you serve

Why it matters commercially

For a business with a catchment area, the map listing is often the first and only brand impression. A thin or contradictory listing costs visits before anyone reaches the website.

Example findings

  • Listing phone number differs from the number published on the contact page.
  • No LocalBusiness structured data, so the site never confirms the listing's details.

The checklist we run

14 fixed checks. Each one is graded pass, needs attention, failed or not applicable, with the fact we observed printed beside the verdict. The category score is the weighted pass rate of these checks — nothing is invented.

Where the evidence comes from

  • Google Business Profile (Places)

Your listing as Google publishes it: name, address, phone, website, primary category, hours, photos, rating, review count and recent review samples.

  • Your connected Google Business Profile

The listing you own, read through your own connected account: verification state, categories, hours, phone numbers, address, services, photos and labels, plus review counts, average rating and whether recent reviews were answered. Read-only, and only when you have connected the account.

If a source is unreachable we mark it unavailable and exclude it. A blocked source lowers data coverage, never your score.

What the deep dive adds

On any paid plan you can run this category on its own. The deep dive re-reads the pages we retrieved with only these 14 checks in front of it, returns a verdict page by page, prints the measured data behind each finding, and orders the fixes by impact and effort. It uses one audit from your monthly allowance.

What you need to provide

Nothing beyond your website address. This category is scored from public data we can retrieve ourselves.

Questions

Local presence & Google Business Profile: common questions

Who is the local presence deep dive for?

Any business that serves a place — a storefront, a clinic, a service area. It grades your Google Business Profile against a fixed checklist and checks whether your website backs up what the listing claims.

What does it actually check?

Listing existence and status, name, address, phone, website match, primary category, hours, photos, description, NAP agreement with the site, LocalBusiness structured data, a crawlable location page, service-area coverage in the copy and review velocity.

Does it change my Brand Health Score?

No. Local presence runs as a standalone deep dive and sits outside the weighted overview score, so adding it never moves your existing numbers.

Which plan includes this category?

It is scored on paid plans from Starter upward. On the free scan it is shown locked, with the number of checks behind it, rather than partially guessed at.

What does the deep dive add over the overview report?

The overview scores this category in one pass over your site. The deep dive re-reads the same pages against all 14 checks on their own, returns a page-by-page verdict, prints the measured data behind each finding, and orders the fixes by impact and effort. It uses one audit from your monthly allowance.

The report identifies the signals. We find the causes.
