SEO visibility and authority

We assess discoverability from a brand angle: not just whether you rank, but whether you rank for the language you actually want to own.

What we check

  • Whether core brand and category terms are targeted anywhere on the site
  • Topical coverage and internal linking between related pages
  • Indexability: sitemap, robots directives, canonical handling
  • Authority signals and referring-domain presence
  • Branded versus non-branded visibility balance

Why it matters commercially

Search is still where most considered purchases start. If your positioning language has no search footprint, you are invisible at exactly the moment someone is looking for what you do.

Example findings

  • No page targets the primary category term the brand uses in every sales conversation.
  • Service pages have no internal links from any other page on the site.

The checklist we run

9 fixed checks. Each one is graded pass, needs attention, failed or not applicable, with the fact we observed printed beside the verdict. The category score is the weighted pass rate of these checks — nothing is invented.

Where the evidence comes from

  • A crawl of your actual pages

Up to fifteen real pages fetched live: response status, title tag and length, meta description, H1 count, canonical tag and duplicated titles, plus a sample of internal links checked for 404s and server errors.

  • Your live site, fetched directly

robots.txt directives per AI and search crawler, sitemap presence and size, llms.txt, structured data types, page titles, descriptions, headings and image alt text. No key required, so this source is always available.

  • Your connected Google Search Console

Indexed and submitted page counts from your own property, plus the last 28 complete days of clicks, impressions and top pages. Read-only, and only when you have connected the account.

  • Third-party ranking and backlink data

Organic keyword and traffic estimates, referring domains and the highest-value backlinks for your domain, where records exist.

  • Google PageSpeed Insights

Measured performance, accessibility, technical SEO and best-practice scores on mobile, plus Largest Contentful Paint, layout shift and blocking time.

If a source is unreachable we mark it unavailable and exclude it. A blocked source lowers data coverage, never your score.

What the deep dive adds

On any paid plan you can run this category on its own. The deep dive re-reads the pages we retrieved with only these 9 checks in front of it, returns a verdict page by page, prints the measured data behind each finding, and orders the fixes by impact and effort. It uses one audit from your monthly allowance.

What you need to provide

Nothing beyond your website address. This category is scored from public data we can retrieve ourselves.

Questions

SEO visibility & authority: common questions

Is this a replacement for a full SEO audit?

No. It is the visibility half of a brand audit: whether search can find, understand and attribute your brand. We measure crawlability, structured data, titles and descriptions, plus ranking and backlink data where a provider is connected.

Do you check backlinks?

Where third-party ranking data is available for your domain, yes: referring domains, total backlinks and the highest-value referring pages appear as measured evidence. Where no records exist we mark it unavailable.

Is SEO in the free scan?

Yes. SEO visibility is one of the four categories the free public-data scan covers.

Which plan includes this category?

It is scored on the free public-data scan, and again in every paid audit with the added detail your intake unlocks.

What does the deep dive add over the overview report?

The overview scores this category in one pass over your site. The deep dive re-reads the same pages against all 9 checks on their own, returns a page-by-page verdict, prints the measured data behind each finding, and orders the fixes by impact and effort. It uses one audit from your monthly allowance.

The report identifies the signals. We find the causes.
